Bairbre O Malley's Veterinary Hospital
Kilmantain Place,
Bray,
Co. Wicklow
Ireland

Tel: 012723857
Website: http://www.veterinary.ie/

Out of Hours service provided by the UCD Veterinary Hospital, tel: 1890564036 (located on the UCD campus at Belfield, 24 hour service)

Directions:
By Car;
From The M50, take the exit for Bray/Shankill. At the roundabout take the turn for Bray and continue on straight. At the top of Bray Main Street the road will fork, and in the centre there is an old Town Hall Building that now houses a McDonalds. Go to the right hand side of the fork, and the first turn right is Kilmantain Place. (There is a barber shop on the corner) The hospital is the only commercial building there and it is on the left, but you can see the sign from the side of McDonalds.

Buses;
The route 145 (from Dublin) bus stops opposite the turn off for Kilmaintain Place at the side of the Town Hall/McDonalds, As does the 45a (from Dun Laoire)
The 45 does not go up this side of the fork on the main street, so get out on the main street and walk up in the same direction the bus was going, then follow the directions above. (same goes for route 84)

From the Dart:
Come out of the dart station and go left, walk up past "Henry & Rose" (fish & chip shop) and towards the main street along the florence road. At the top of this road is a T junction between the florence road and the main street, here you will be facing the Holy Redeemer Church, go left and follow the directions given above from the main street.

About the vets
If you are in Ireland you may be familiar with the practices main vet, Bairbre O Malley, as she has appeared on RTE's "The Den", TV3's "Animal A&E", and BBC's "Animal Hospital". She is also the UCD lecturer on Exotic Species and the Author of "Clinical Anatomy and Physiology of Exotic Species".
At present there is also another vet there by the name of Lyndsay Madden who really has a soft spot for rats. Both vets are extremely helpful and very easy to talk to about your concerns.
Many people travel from all over Ireland to bring in their exotics so you never know what you may meet in the waiting room!

Not only are these vets the most competent vets for Exotic species in the country, they really care about the pets too (our babies get Christmas cards sent from the vets and Bairbre's dog, Tasha, who is always at the practice keeping a watchful eye over things). They've been really good to us over the whole span of our keeping rats, and deserve recognition for their efforts. Even down to the sympathy cards we have received after the recent losses we have experienced.

If you are an Irish rat owner I cannot recommend this practice enough.
Currently owned by; MooMoo, Monster, Badger and Dewey
And gone but not forgotten; Pixie, Hammo, Lakitu, Kamek, Hiro, Merry, Legolas, ChimChim, Koopa, Pippin, Wonky, Faerie, Mih-Ko, BooBoo, Sniffe, Chim Chim and Peepee :hearts:
