Re: Vets in the East Midlands
I've used this Vets based in Grantham for the past 2 years. They have been excellent, and i credit them with saving the life of one of my current Boys, who was very sick earlier this year. http://www.brayhousevets.co.uk/

Practice Name: Ark Veterinary Clinic
Address: 13 St.John St, Long Eaton, Notts, Nottinghamshire, NG10 1BW
Telehone Number: 0115 972 3650
Comments: I've been taking my rats to this practice since I got them. The bloke there is very friendly and helpful and was good with handling my rats. He also tended to give me a bit extra of the antibiotics I needed to cover spills.
The woman that works there seems ok too, both of them discuss situations with you and work with you to help your pet.
They've done one major lump removal on one of my girls, which was a success, and the aftercare was free.
The staff in general are helpful and friendly and I'll happily keep bringing my rats to them. Prices don't seem too bad either with the consultation costing me around £20 last time I had to go.

Practice Name: CASTLE VETERINARY CENTRE
Address: 61 - 63 Castle Boulevard, Nottingham NG7 1FD.
Telephone Number: 0115 9417894
Web page: www.castle-vets.com/
Comments:Took my boys for neutering here. Vet is very confident with rats, talked though the options and risks with rats. Nurses all excellent holding the rats and seemed completely at ease. Surgery was well done and post care has been thorough. Really made me feel confident that they knew about rats (the vet was even aware of this forum).

I would like to recommend
Michelle
Northlands Veterinary Hospital
2 Northampton Rd
Kettering NN15 7JU
01536 485 543
Michelle covers surgeries in Corby, Rushden, Raunds and Kettering. She is exceptionally compassionate and loves rats! She is very willing to listen and take advice and also to try drugs outside of the usual realms. She is one of the best vets I have ever met.

Re: Vets in the East Midlands
Thought I'd posted about this vets previously, anyway:
Lincolnshire - Louth
Black Sheep Vets
Unit 4, Meridian Centre
Belvoir Way
Fairfield Industrial Estate
Louth
LN11 0LQ
Lincolnshire
http://www.blacksheepvets.co.uk/index.html
Fantastic vets
I no longer live in this area so sadly need to find another practice to live up to the same standard as Richard and his team gave to me and all my guys.
Many of my own and those staying with me as rescue and foster ratties have been taken here over a number of years - Richard has a wealth of understanding and he's a vet you can talk to and discuss things with.
I have had rats spayed, castrated, lump removals, many various conditions have been treated.
Highly recommended, even had friends travel to him from other areas.

I was recommended these by a friend and have taken my ratties there, including Absolum to be castrated on friday and they're brilliant.
They really care about the animals which is lovely to see.
