Recipe for Rosemary and Banana biscuits :)

Post by SpoonRat » Thu Nov 11, 2010 9:36 pm

Probably the simplest recipe in the world but it's actually really yummy - I'm trying to resist eating them all myself.

Ripe or over-ripe banana
Dried rosemary
Plain Flour (Wholemeal is better if you have it)

1) Preheat oven to gas mark 4
2) Mash banana in a blender or with a spoon
3) Add flour until you have a doughy consistency
4) Roll out dough with a rolling pin (or just flatten with your hands)
5) Sprinkle rosemary on top and press in with your hand or rolling pin
6) Bake in the oven until golden brown and no longer soft - mine took about half an hour
7) Give to lucky rats!

Please adapt this recipe and experiment and feel free to steal the idea, share it, spread the word - making rat treats is EASY! I want the world to know lol :)

Just made this now - easy and yummy (for the rats and myself  ) I got a huge burn on my arm, but worth it to see the girls go mental for their pieces :)

Once the biscuits are fresh from the oven, glaze with milk and honey then place under the grill for a short amount of time until brown

I absolutely adore this rats go mad for their biscuits.

i've played with it and made some other flavours people might want to try; just replace the banan and rosemary with

mixed Herbs biscuits;

i take a few tea-spoonfulls of my dried mixed herbs(and seeds) and soak them in quarter cup of hot water until they are re-hydrated.
Strain the herbs out and add them to the flour........keeping the water they steeped in
add the herb water to the flour until you get a dough consistency then carry on as the original recipe

Mixed berries
The same as above

using some of the dried mixed berries from RR. i soak them in hot water,
strain and some of the larger berries may be chopped up.
add them to the flour with a little of the steaping water and bake as the original recipe.

i also tried adding some of their calcium and vitamin D powder to the biscuits to help get it into them..........i dont know weather cooking destroys some if its active benefits though. and cooking the biscuits for longer on a lower tempreture makes them really hard and good for gnawing on :D
