Or just leave your carefully sorted bag of charity stuff by the front door, ready to go, let ratties loose, go to make a cuppa, and come back to find chewed up books, nibbled boots and pee'd on clothes.
I was only gone a few minutes and just a few feet away but couldn't hear over the kettle!!

Argos do these 'value' wine racks which make amazing ratty climbing frames. I have two of them, they are only a fiver each.

I wrap sisal rope around carpet tubes as a budget scratch post for them to scale....there's a box attached to the top with a load of whole mokey nuts hanging from it. I also made a maze box by putting cardboard dividers and tubes into a larger box (it obviously wasn't big enough or difficult enough though cos they worked it out in seconds  . I also have plans for an indiana jones stylee bridge- take the inside of a roll of foil and put toilet roll insides over it.....voila! As they try to walk across the loo rolls will move around and make it more challenging. The love it when I tape a bunch of boxes in a fort type thing and fill each one with different things (finacard, large polystyrene packing pieces, tissue, newspaper etc etc) and I bought some cheap bungee ropes which I hope to use as a bridge
Owned by Dill, Lola, Bo & Hattie xx .....and new to the crew.....Millie & Skye :)

To all those at the bridge, gone but never forgotten xxx Jess, Cam, Moose, Tammie, Sandie & Nemmy xxx

I use my empty horse feeds sacks, they smell really interesting and usually there`s some unusual treat in the very corners, and one of the all time favourites is the boot box where all the wellingtons are kept

how about some rolls of cheap loo paper and just let them unravel it themselves? i let mine free range in the bathroom and they always grab the end of the toilet paper and run off with it, unravelling it all over the place.

Cardboard mail tubes (my lovely sister gets them for me from her work) and cardboard boxes. I cut the tubes into various lengths, and cut holes, of the same diameter as the tubes, in the sides and top of each cardboard box. I can then use the tubes to join the boxes, in a different layout each evening, so they have a bit of variety. Once the cardboard gets wee'd on and vile, I just sling them out and make new ones!
Jacqui, Mum to Bella, Phoebe and Mr "Fred" Croup
and sadly missing Jeera, Dhana, Kizzy, Tasha, Nico, Amber, Saffy, Opal, Ruby, Trinny and Ziggy
