Fitting duettos in cars

Post by acapae_wolf » Wed May 18, 2011 2:51 pm

1 Vauxhal Astra, 1 driver, 1 front seat passenger, 1 duetto (and also some other stuff which is less important for this duetto-in-car discussion).
Will it fit? Thoughts on a postcard please. More than 4 replies would be great, as this is the number of people who's dubious faces I'm currently passing on.

And I'm posting because this is public to link people to, while FB isn't...

I have no idea! Is the Duetto assembled or flat packed? :o

Flatpacked. Or deconstructed anyway.

Sorry, what's a duetto? I Googled it and found it to be an old Alfa Romeo, I'm guessing you're not trying to fit one of those in your Astra, lol.

I managed to fit a flat packed explorer + tonnes of accessories, two full suitcases and a passenger in a Mazda 2 with the back seats folded down :)

I think you need someone with an Astra to go and measure their boot... (the estate, yes?! :o )

I asked which one and the reply I got back was inconclusive...

Yeah, I reckon it would.. assuming it is the estate. The SRS would fit in my Nissan Almera flatpacked, they're not that different dimensions wise.

Duetto.

From here:

http://www.ferplast.it/scheda_prodotto_ ... rm_pagina=

Dimensions when flat, at most should be 75cm x 120cm so yes, with the back seats folded down that should easily fit in the back of an Astra, doesn't even need to be an estate.

I'm pretty confident in that too. I may not know a lot about rats but I know a lot more about cars, lol

No, the biggest panel is 102 x 163cm

(although it could be less than 163... *brandishes saw* 8) )

Where are you getting those dimensions from? The largest pannel has been measured and is 102 x 163cm. I most definately trust Mary's measuring skills :hearts:

Mother says
I fear we will not know for sure until we collect the car. The booking says:
Car group: Group E ( e.g. Vauxhall Astra) Please note AVIS is confirming a car group and not a specific model or engine.
Which gives this page http://www.avis.co.uk/UKfleet/1-Fleet/Medium-Vehicles
Which is hardly positive nor helpful in any way shape or form :(

Are the top and bottom not separate panels like an Explorer? They appear to be from the pic.....

It doesn't divide in two laterally, no. The biggest panels are the whole of the front/back.

Ahh ok, that's a pain, I take it back then.

Even still, if I were a betting man I'd put £10 on it fitting....

I fear the description 'compact' would rule out an estate. :-?
