Are you sure? I would have never put kittens in my old furet tower, and i know that the old-style furet plus have got the same size bar spacing as that?acapae_wolf wrote:The XL/ furet plus are suitabe for rats from the age the sexes are split - it's a lot narrower than an inch. I know people who have, certainly from rehoming anyway. But I'm pretty sure some people (perhaps breeding rats from bigger/ faster maturing lines though) have done younger. A furet plus v1 is suitable for syrians too - dunno how the bars differ on the newer versions in terms of spacing though.Lillyland wrote:Are you sure? But I wouldn't want to put babies that young in an XL/ tower due to size of the cage itself lol.

Cor, that's half an explorer with good bits added on - an opening top, AND the side bars are horizontal! Very nifty, good find

Re: Turning a dog crate into a ratty home...
:0 just measured the 'rat corner' and its 10 cm too small for the cage

Oh nooooooo! Can you shift things a little bit sideways rather than needing to move things about properly?

th only option is to swap the ratty corner with the dining table (which she says will not happen)

I've had does in an XL from 7 weeks and although I was a little concerned at first, there was no way they would have escaped.

I can't see very well 'cause i'm on my phone, but it looks like only one door opens at the front, if that's a concern?
