Counts won't be lost in the sense that they will still show on this old forum - you could pop them in your signature on the new one for easy reference.
kammi_sparky123 wrote:I have a question... what is the new forum going to be called? :-o
Will it be the same and this forum moved to a different link for reference? Or this stays put and a new one is made?
There will be a new but very similar url, and this forum will be accessible (as a frozen reference site) from the new forum.

btw, some time back someone asked about pm space on the new forum and costs - it will be £5 per year for double the space (we've yet to hear what the default will be). In the meantime, in case anyone isn't aware, you can create additional folders for storing pms, giving a current maximum of 250 (5 folders with up to 50 in each). :D

Ahhh, no wonder lack of PM space has been a concern (mind you, I have 250 stored so still don't have any spare, lol!) - we will add it to the useful stuff for the new forum.

I can make a wild guess, but please don't hold me to it... maybe another 4 weeks? Long enough away to not get too excited just yet. 8)

Just wanted to clarify why there is such a delay as I feel bit responsible.
The server the forum is moving to is managed by an individual (non-rat fancy) as a small business from home. She was away for much of June and she couldn't get started with the set up until after her return. I am then responsible for actually creating the boards, setting permissions etc which is proving to be a very time consuming task - and typically I go away in another week or so, for a couple of weeks. My aim is to have it fully functional by then, with as much info moved across as I can humanly manage. Realistically, Mary will probably do most of the 'populating with info' ie moving articles etc., but she also has a longish period when she won't be available. A lot of the preparatory ground work has been done over the past few weeks (decisions/checking and re-writing stuff) but obviously we need it to be fully functional pre-launch and also we all want to be around! We all re-group at the beginning of August - so are aiming for a week or so after that.

And if it makes anyone else feel better I had no idea about the multiple PM folders until about 2 weeks ago!! FRs best kept secret. :D

I would also like to apologise for anyone who has to wait for FRA response to rehoming PMs. That's mainly my responsibility and keeps getting squeezed by all of this.

If there's anything I can do to help, I'm more than happy to. I'm off work at the moment too, so my life is generally revolving around FR & playing with my rats
