can anyone tell me what an Oxytet LA injection is?

Hi, My boy had a lump removal the other day and ive just received my invoice from the vets and it says he had a Oxytet LA injection and i was wondering what it is and what its for as i cant find a topic on it, Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I can't be certain but would assume LA stands for Local Anaesthetic?

it's an antibiotic.

edited to add, I think the LA means 'long acting'

Thanks for your replies, it just worried me a bit because its the first time any of my boys needed surgery and i knew the other medication just not that one, thanks again x

Mine have had Oxytet on several occasions, furries were fine, but it caused burns on my hairless rats.
FP Girls, Oldies, Pink Wrinklies and Wrinkle Men II.

MrsSetters- at least you had a reasonable guess that sounded right, i didnt even know what it was :oops: , i wonder why it caused burns, ive heard of Baytril burns does it maybe contain some of the same active ingredients as Baytril?

I don't know to be honest. It's never happened with the furries, only hairless!
