Dumbo black eyed Siamese

Post by Lindsei » Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:40 pm

I would love a female dumbo black eyed Siamese, are there any breeders on here that breed them, or does anybody know of anyone that does, OR I am asking too much  am I going to struggle looking for something so specific?

I know somebody thats got some with pink eyes but I'm not keen on pink eyes & the poor eyesight bothers me for their sake. My 2 silver fawn hoodies have pink eyes & they sway a lot & can be jumpy because of it :(

I breed Black eyed Siamese Dumbos :)

Siamese don't ever have pink eyes though, they have Ruby eyes (not as dark as topaz/buff but they are 'ruby'). I've never found them to be any more weary than others. Could it be that your silver fawns are jumpier because they are just like that - e.g. not handled enough as babies, or that it's just their temperament?

I've got 2 dumbo siamese girls with red eyes and they have no real obvious sight issues, in fact they are usually first at the door, whereas my PEW (sister to one of the Smeeze) if very much blind as a bat  She also has no problem navigating around the cage. Not even when I change things round.

I would recommend Jenna if you are looking for some, all her rats are gorgeous and have fantastic temperaments.

If only you weren't so far away aquajen9

Thanks Indogo, I've just been contacted by a breeder that has top eared black eyed siamese :D so I might need to get a dumbo ruby eyed siamese & a top eared black eyed siamese, seems like a fair sacrifice to me

I never though of that Jan

Thanks cookielucylou, what's Jenna's user name?

Tee hee 8)

Lindsei - I know it's a bit of a distance, but often there is the option of rat trains or meeting at shows :)

Ooooh meeting at a show could always be an option :D Are there any shows north of you that you go to?

If I manage to get 2 does from a lovely breeder close to me :D :D :D I then have room for 2 Bucks & my happy family will be complete

Sorry to butt in. So smeezes never have pink eyes, only ruby? My smeezie boy has most definite pink eyes (and awful eye sight), he's very pale and I always thought he was a himi till someone told me that himis are white with dark points whereas my Archie is a creamy colour. I'd post a pic but Photobucket is down.
