I wouldn't say rats are my life, but I do try to give them the best diet I can, and I think they eat very well, although I'm not fanatical about it. They're allowed yoggies and other treats, and when I was ill recently I had my sister go out and get some rat nuggets because I was in no state to faff about with sorting their Shunamite mix. But they do eat better than I do, I like my junk way too much. Whenever I'm doing any food shopping, the chances are that anything in the basket that's remotely green and healthy is for the rats

I picked the second option although I'm kind of in between, I wouldn't say my rats are 'my life', and their Shunamite mix is obviously as healthy and natural as I can get for them, and they get a great variety of food (probably more variety than I do) but they still do get leftovers as treats and when I make meals I'll often cook enough for the rats' tea too so we share a lot of the same foods. They're healthier than me, but they do still get treats sometimes.

Separating the options 'we are just as unhealthy' and 'we are just as healthy' would be good.

Ratties get their weekly shopping done separately to ours and we buy them items we have NEVER used ourself.

We have been converted to coucous so perhaps our rats are teaching us to live healthier.

We buy more fruit and veg now. The veg to give the ratsters variety. The fruit as the odd treat.

We actually enjoy ratty shopping more than family shopping

I was just saying to a friend the other day that my animals eat better than I do - I lovingly prepare their meals & then I end up eating toast or noodles for dinner!

Well at the mo I'm on a strict and healthy diet so we're about the same, although the rats eat more tasty and exciting food than me!
