Alison, I felt rather nauseous the first time you tokd me that story. I really really didn't need to read it again! :sickrat:
I had to watch it. I can't expunge that image from my mind, therefore I feel it's only fair to share (and also give due warning to anyone who may end up with a rat with an abcess...) :P

Taste test continued! Last night me and kit were feeling a bit down, so we found more ratty goodness nibbles to try! Here was the verdict:

Bacon flavour Treat-Ums:
- Looks like - Frazzle without streaks
- Smells like - really strong Frazzles
- Outer coating tasted like weetabix
- Inside was creamy and strong tasting, but not bacony!!
- Weetabix-y after taste
Rating: 2 out of 5 boggles

Beaphar MaltPaste ( :sickrat: ):
- Smells like marmite
- Looks like peanu butter
- Icky texture!!
- Tasted like mega strong weetabix plus more cereal
- Overall musky taste
Rating: 1 out of 5 boggles!

This next one is my girlfriend's dwarf hamster food, but it's still animal food so it counts!
Burgess Supahamster Dwarf Hamster Harvest:
Contains: mealworms, sunflower seeds, dried peas, canary seeds, millet, grass pellets, maize, toasted soya flakes, toasted wheat flakes and poultry fat :sickrat:
- Looks like posh hamster muesli
- Smells like alfalfa/petting zoo food
- All ingredients tried including mealworms!!!
- Husky and iron like taste, was easy to chew!
- Similar to a cereal bar
- GROSS after taste, like freshly cut grass would taste!
Spat it out after chewing :sickrat:
0 out of 5 boggles, seed husks in teeth!

Baytril:
- Smells chemical-y
- Bonjela texture
- Jelly like!
- "Tastes like a men's urinal block smells" :sickrat: !
- Not much aftertaste
(Message from Kit: Mupsy made a face similar to when you have a sweet that's waaaay too fizzy!!)
1 our of 5 boggles!

And that's how we spend our evenings, 8)

I'm starting to get anxious every time this thread goes quiet, in case everyone has poisoned themselves....

Just to say, thanks to this thread I am now officially a "normal" person and think SeniorAid smells like death. Tasting it has forever ruined the illusion for me :(

Have you never smelled it? It's really metallic, a bit like highly concentrated blood mixed with Marmite or something.

I can recommend Wagg's apple bakes. Bit of a strawy texture, slightly sweet and kind of like Hovis biscuits.

Weird, but the Dr Squiggles powder tastes nicer than the solution.

It would depend on the "flavour". They all taste awful but the fish and duck ones are especially bad because of the smell :sickrat: i got free samples of all flavours and i wondered why my ratties wouldn't try them. Now I know.

I can now add mini "Markies" to the list - they are really hard to bite into like super baked three day old biscuit and the stuff in the middle meant to be "Meaty" doesnt taste of anything much, kinda a dusty, dry, ... hmmm... musty taste.

Ratties give.... 4/5 boggles - Mummy gives 2/5 boggles
