Savic Freddy 2

Savic Freddy 2 Cage
Number of Rats: 3

Dimensions: 80cm x 50cm x 63cm

Image

Accessories: corner shelf, ramp, hammock, corner litter tray, metal food bowl and water bottle.

This was my first cage and I love it. Its a good retirement cage as its not too high but theres plenty of space for two shelves so younger rats can get around. It has one large door on the front which allows plenty of access to the cage. It has a deep base so no litter is kicked out. Although its not flatpack-able the sturdyness of the cage makes up for it with small bar spacing.

Rating: :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat: and a half. It would get 5 but it can be a pain trying to store it when not in use.

A very study cage. Large door on the front, deep plastic base. Well painted bars.

Not enormous, but a good starting place for a pair or small group of rats. Good for young kittens.

Rating 4 Rats. :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat:

I also like the freddy but the platform can be a little flimsy in places and the threads on the screws for the platform loss there thread quickly.

Thou can be easily replaced with alternative shelves and plateforms.

I started off with a Freddy and i think it is a great starter cage, it is sturdy and the large door gives good access I also like the fastening on the door, very secure! My main gripes with it was that it is fairly small, there was no roof door and that it doesn't flatpack so takes up alot of storage space.

Still give it 4 rats as a starter cage though :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat: :smileyrat:

Really nice cage, and fantastic door catch (why cant they all be like this !!).

It is on the small side though - I wouldnt put more than 2 rats in there really. Not great shelves though - I replaced mine with Furplast ones.

I love the Freddy! I got mine second hand about 6 or 7 years ago, and today it suddenly started to give in a little due to the weight of the Furet Plus I put on top of it :-) I use it for kittens or when I take rats with me for a weekend and such.

An increadable cage. I can not recomend it highly enough. :D
As said the door is fantastic, though I would advise using a bull-dog clip as a lock for the more sneaky rats.
Perfect for 2 rats, even 3 if well bonded. :)
Can be made lage enough for 5 with the addition of its shorter counterpart; the Ruffy, attached (minus the top door) to the bottom of the cage part. May be made HUGE if this is done with a chi-chi2 or Freddy maxi (after cutting a door/opening on the top of one of the two cages, as neither has a top opening new).

Rating - FIVE rats!

I have this cage, 2nd hand. Well, I have 2 of them, 1 on top of the other. Fab cage, easy to clean, not keen on the shelving but it makes do, until my girls are older. Recommend to anyone who is looking to buy 1 or 2;
