Cleaning out used cage...

Post by zomgscott » Thu Feb 17, 2011 9:09 pm

I am getting a Freddy 2 from a friend who used to have a pair in their but have sadly passed on.

I was just wondering how I would go around properly cleaning a used cage which rats have died in, I have my eye on a couple of siamese girls so would assistance is much welcomed :D

CHEERS!

Scott.

I tend to use boiling water & scrub it with washing up liquid or something stronger, rinse with hot water, rewash as many times as my OCD makes me, then rinse really well & rewipe with pet friendly cage spray (or water with vinegar if i don't have that)

do you have a shower or garden hose? That's how I cleaned my freddy. Scrubbed with washing up liquid a few times and a cloth, both inside and out and then used pet disfectant :o)

Why won't the wire top dismantle? they usually very easy to take apart.
