They're probably just carrying a lot of recessives.. sounds like they're going to be at the very least carrying russian blue and albino.. if not various other things.. do you have a pedigree for them?

yes they are rescues, i dont breed
the `insert naughty word here` kept the dad, the RB rex, but ive got 3 generations of her n her husbands rats here, 4 if you include Dolly`s bubs.

here goes....Dolly(pew rex)-mother to Rankin(smeeze) her son/sometimes mate, Rebus(roan)-Dolly and Rankin`s son.
before Dolly came to me, she was in with a RB supposed satin rex and her existing bubs were removed waaay to early.
she was seperate from Rankin and Rebus.

thursday i ended up with Rankin`s dad too :-? eeergh complicated.

If Dolly is a PEW - then her son will be a Himalayan, not a Siamese..

Sounds like the BYB was breeding allsorts, so no doubt they look a little.. chocolatey lol

Can't imagine why you'd want to do that!

oh, i wasnt hoping youd come along, i was just expecting you to ....

back to the question, does rex/dr affect the way a kitten looks when young, ie colour wise??
can silvering appear early on?

Rexes can appear less intense in colour than smooths as they lack guard hairs.
No idea about d/r, sorry.
I've never thought about when silvering can start (only had 3 blacks in all my litters) but have always noticed it by homing stage..
